You Are My Quiet Place
I sit in the stillness of an active peace,
In a quiet place to where I alone have been raptured,
But to where we will always be,
A sanctuary that for a vastly vacant lifetime,
Was completely unknown to me,
And I absorb its spectacle filled with wonder,
Amazed just short of disbelief.
Glazed-over eyes betray my complete awe,
Of your spirit and all its aura,
I am a once invisible, blinded man,
Brought to a place where I can both,
See and be vividly seen.
And I was ushered here by your charm,
By the demure manner in which you speak,
Carried here weightlessly atop the notes,
Of your gentle laugh,
Like leaves tickled by the breeze,
Mesmerized, I was coaxed here,
By the twinkling dance of your eyes,
Like moondust tambouring against stars,
Lighting the midnight sky,
Led to this place by your playfulness,
Intrigued by the joy you take in being free,
Unworthy of your submission,
And your will to surrender your all,
To me.
